The caring efforts we’ve made for more than 30 years now ànd the communication we had to support them, have little by little created an overall awareness and inspired other companies in the Belgian coffee business. Also urged by Johan Vermeersch, who has been the president of the National Federation of Coffee Roasters for 8 years, interesting and promising initiatives for drugs free and fair trade on a larger scale, are gradually being taken.

In recognition of this career long approach of corporate social responsibility, in so many aspects of our business activity, in February 2002 Koffie Kàn was awarded the Belgian bi-annual Solidarity Award.
